The winds of change are upon us...

Make a wish with me!
Make a wish with me!

The winds of change are upon us and it is our job to be prepared to dance in the rain.

We only get one life.  How are you choosing to live it? Are you ruled by fear, anger, sadness, and regret, or do you choose confidence, peace, joy, and gratitude?  Emotions, like the wind, come and go, but we choose which ones to linger on past their due date.  Below are questions for self reflection.

  • What are my intentions, desires, and dreams for this season?

  • What fuels my passion? What weakens it?

  • How can I deepen my connection with the world around me?

  • What will I choose to let in? What is hurting or disrupting my energy that needs to be escorted out?

My intentions for the season are to continue treating my body as the temple for my soul.  I have a desire to make space for creative expression and community connections. My dreams always orbit the next big adventure. My passion is fueled by all things creative from dance, to textiles, photography, sculpture or just designing my next flower bed.  I am weakened by toxic, unnatural, AI-generated slop.  I am weakened by unhealthy things I ingest from certain foods, to the siloed doom scrolling we’ve all been trapped in for far too long.  What weakens me is this manufactured fear we have been fed our whole lives.

Recently, I came across a podcast called, “Animism: Listening to the Land”. I have only listened to 5 out of the 16 available but I am loving every minute of it.  This podcast is all about deepening your connection with the world around you.  It is rooted in gratitude, mindfulness, and connection. I am currently on level three of my yoga journey. One of the concepts of level three is defining your Isht.  “Isht” is kind of like what people in recovery refer to as their “Higher Power”.  It is what resonates with you.  It is where you bow your head and open your heart. It is what you worship in your own way.  It is what you can lean on.  I have always held Nature as my “Isht” even before I knew what that meant.  She held me, and rocked me when no one could.  She walked with me in the dark woods of uncertainty.  She listens and helps me remember the lessons of our true cyclical nature. My church has always been a mountain top, an ancient tree, a quiet sunrise, or a starlit night.

I choose to let the light in.  I choose to let in relationships that are supportive, silly, and serene.  I choose to let in opportunities to grow my community of spiritual weirdos and those striving to be their best selves. I choose to let in what nurtures me and helps me thrive.  I am ready to escort out all toxic thoughts, ideas, lies, and those who support hate and disconnection.

Below are tools to embrace over the next month or so..

Symbols of the season:

  • Air/ Wind and the 5th chakra (practice breath and mantra meditations, find your voice, and speak your truth)

  • Deer (trust your instincts, walk in awareness, pick your path with care)

  • Clear Quartz (amplify, strengthen, and direct your energy)

  • Sunrise (renewal, innocence, growth, creativity, and play)

Numerology Notes:

The winds of change are upon us. It is our job to remain steady.  But how do we do that?

  • Eat food that supports your nervous system (greens please!)

  • Work on meditations to strengthen your neutral mind (prepare for the balancing equinox)

  • Create order and a sense of serenity in your home (think spring cleaning)

  • Consider this sutra, “Recognize the other person is you.” (be present, be kind, be patient, we all need more love)
