Let’s get personal and talk about six!

Happy Summer Solstice!
Happy Summer Solstice!

I’d like to begin on a personal note, then talk about June’s numerology of 6, and end with the celebration of Summer Solstice’s fire.

On a personal note, this has been an intense year full of grief, having to accept life's changes and rearrangements and ending with bucket loads of pride.  This year marked the first anniversary of many deaths in my family.  There is somehow a weight and a void that exist simultaneously.  The weight is having to acknowledge that our generation is now becoming the remaining elders as our parents, aunts, and uncles begin to leave us.  The void is felt by noticing the impact my elders left behind and finally recognizing what they brought to the table now that they are gone.

Also, pulling out more tears than I’d like to admit, has been navigating my son’s senior year of high school. I can still vividly remember that first drop off at kindergarten. Now, I’m facing the looming first drop off at the university this August!  I have lived the majority of my adult years trying to always put the children’s lives ahead of my own.  My goal in life has been to provide them with all the love, attention and encouragement they need to thrive.  Well, now I fear that chapter is ending.  The boys are becoming young men and seem to need me less and less as they navigate their teenage years.  I am so proud of all their accomplishments.

My Lucius was awarded as Salutatorian for the Lakeview class of 2026, Academic All-State in tennis and MVP in the first men’s volleyball team! Watching him grow in strength and confidence over the years has been a blessing.

My Felix just performed in his 8th dance recital and continues to grow in technique and shine on stage. Felix also brings his talent to the percussion section of his school band.

Someone said to me, “good job mama”! At first I thought, “good job for what”?  They are the ones who have put in the work. After marinating on it I realized I also did a lot of work to try to be the best mom I could. I spent countless hours, days, years sorting through my own baggage and developing my own spirituality so I could best show up for them.

What’s next?  How do I want to spend the next chapter of adulthood? What do I want/ need to prioritize now?  Where can I shine my light and send compassion on the next adventure?

I am continuing to grow and define my company where I provide group experiences delivering clarity, connection and creativity.  The vision for MI Phoenix Gardens is helping fellow humans rise from the ashes and begin to grow and thrive together again.  I am also working towards my level 3, 1000 hour kundalini yoga teacher training.  I am continuing to develop programs and workshops to help others feel grounded, and supported.  Nurturing each “garden” with what it needs on an individual basis. I am also very much looking forward to spending more time making art, connecting with nature and dancing for joy!

June
June

Enough about me, let’s talk numerology and seasonal shifts.  The number 6 of June represents themes of family, justice, and fair play, community, love and beauty, the immune system, and self-respect. On a higher spiritual level number 6 represents sacredness and purity.  There is a lot of fire, intensity and potential for anger in the forecast.  Avoid conflicts if at all possible on the 6th, 8th, 15th, 17th, 24th, and 26th.  Community is essential! Having real friends to talk to is like having oxygen to breathe.  The arcline is also associated with the number 6.  When our arcline is strong we have a brightness, clarity and the ability to sense danger, deceit and shifting circumstances.  This month short fuses abound, “Patience Pays, Wait! … And all the best things will come to you. … Befriend your soul. … Creation is ready to serve you, if you just be you.”  6 represents justice and fair play, being fair to yourself is a top priority.  June might get a little dicey at times but July will help us slow down and regroup.

June also represents the season where the elemental energy of air becomes fire.  The fire within you should never be ignored. This is the season of passion, energy and the drive that pushes us into our next creation.  Use every drop of sunlight, check one more item off your to-do list. This energy is fleeting and should be used before it passes us by. Fire is movement. Fire is a dance. Fire has the capacity to nurture or destroy, to warm us up or burn us down.

Pause here and breathe in the light.

Turn outward and see all that has been created.

Soak up warmth and abundance.

Acknowledge what you have created and celebrate this season of growth.

Reflect-

What have you nurtured into being?

How can you harness this fire energy to complete your heart's longing?
